Happy Birthday!
Hello and welcome to my first blog post for the month of September. I Love spring, the days are starting to get longer and warmer...
I'm here to show you all my take on the challenge that Jo has set for us this month. For me its all about scrapping the Birthday pic's. This photo is a recent one of  my daughter celebrating her 10th Birthday.

 This is my Layout.

This month I got to work with the Photo Play Party Girl paper range, it has some beautiful greens and pink colours and is great for those girly birthday layouts. I have followed Jo's sketch. I have added a lot of layering with all of the different pattern paper. Added some twine to the top half of the page, I also inked all of the edges of the papers with a contrasting colour just to give another effect to the paper.

I have used a lot of the stickers from the sticker sheet to make up my headings and my little embellishment clusters. I have backed my photos with a little pink glassine bag and I have tucked in a little hidden  journaling card into the side of the picture as well.

Lately I have been trying to practise my script font to use on more layouts. I think I need to keep practising a bit more as its a little rough looking but maybe that just adds to the effect. haha... The little green tag down the bottom I have put through the die cutting machine and made the little binder edging on it which looks quite effective. Lastly I have added a doodly border which I do to most of my Layout's lately I think it gives it a better finish..
Not long to go until our Spring Retreat in Bright its going to be such an awesome weekend of scrapping and FUN TIMES.. All of the info for that is here on the blog or you can always send Jo a message.

Have you "liked" our Scrapbookit Facebook page? We often have layouts on there for inspiration throughout the month, its worth a look.
All of the products I have used on my layout today are from www.scrapbookit.com.au head on over and have a look you might be surprised and who doesn't love shopping in the comfort of their own home..
I hope you have enjoyed my Layout today, I look forward to seeing what you all come up with for this challenge.
Happy Scrapping Jane xx

Celebrate Party Boy!

 Good Morning Everyone!
How nice is it that Spring has arrived?
How perfect is this month's challenge for Spring...just what we needed to get out of the 'winter blues'

Jo has set a sketch and a very trendy mood board to inspire us this September. All you need to do now is head to your crafty space and create!
Here are the prompts for this month...

Jo has given me the gorgeous, bright Photo Play ~ Party Boy papers to create with this month.
They are so vibrant and lots of fun to use.

Here is the layout that I have created...

How gorgeous was my boy back then? Still is :)
These photos are from his 7th birthday party and the papers are just perfect for highlighting this special day for him.

There are two parts of the mood board that I took inspiration from for this layout.
The first was the circle pattern.

I started my layout by creating a background of different coloured circles using, yes you guessed it...my most favourite product at the moment, Colour Blast Shimmer Cubes.
I just love that I can create such vibrant, shimmery shapes with this awesome product.
I have used Apple of My Eye, Fire Engine, Singin the Blues, Just Blue, Sunshine for the circles. I have used some Dusty Charcoal to splatter the background.
The outline is done with a fine liner.

The second part of the mood board I took inspiration from was the cute little bunting at the bottom of the mood board. I have used some elastic twine and small parts of the patterned paper to create some bunting under the photo.

How cute is that little face???

I have used the gorgeous patterned paper and the Sticker Elements from the Photo Play Party Boy Collection to embellish and complete my layout.

I have also used this collection to create a birthday card for my nephew...

How gorgeous are the colours in this collection?
If you love them as much as I do why not jump online and order a pack from Jo? Great value and so many ways to use this collection.

Don't forget to get creating for this months challenge and the chance to win a prize pack. All you need to do is to use the mood board and sketch to inspire your creation and enter by emailing joannecaird@gmail.com; attaching your entry using our Inlinkz or by uploading your photo to our Facebook page. We can't wait to see your entries!

Look forward to sharing more of this collection with you later in the month.

Good Morning

Welcome to spring and our September challenge. It's my turn to challenge you to get scrapping and add some bright colours into your day.
This month I have a sketch from PageMaps and a fun bright mood board for you to get your inspriration from.

I really enjoyed creating with this PhotoPlay 'For the love of Summer' range kit, it has lots of bright fresh papers and a really fun sticker page included. Here is my take on the challenge:

Lots of splaters of Dylusions Ink spray and lots of the stickers. My title is just using the Kaisercraft mini alpha's.

I also created another page, this one I have added some texture with some Colour Blast Paste 'Fire Engine' through a Mini stencil from Kaisercraft.Added some of the cute stickers and the bright papers.

If you would love to join in our challenge and be in the running for a great prize pack, upload your entries by September 30th via email joannecaird@gmail.com, in the sidebar with our Inlinkz badge or via our Facebook page.

Something Out of Left Field!

Hi Everyone,

I am here today to share the last of the Design Team posts for this month.
The months are going by so quickly. It is a little scary really.

Anyway, I have been creating with the gorgeous Photo Play - French Flea Market designed by Julie Nutting. This collection is just gorgeous.
I used it to create this card...

I have used the patterned papers and the stickers. I have elevated some of the stickers using some foam tape to create some dimension.

I have also created another layout which is a little different this time round.
I have again used some of the patterned papers from the French Fea Market collection. I have chosen the more neutral and cream/bone coloured pattern papers and created the background to suit the photo.

Here is my layout...

To create the background I have used a variety of products including the Colour Blast Royalty, Lovely Lilac and Rose Petal Shimmer Pots, KaiserMists in Winter Grey, Blackberry and Wisteria, the Sweet Violet Purple Teal Magicals, Colour Blast Velvet Shimmer Dust, Colour Blast Royalty Embossing Powder, Dylusions ~ Ink Spray ~ Slate Grey.

I finished the background by adding some of the Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powder in White Pearl. This is very cool. It is, however, very hard to see in these photos. It leaves the background with a gorgeous pearl shimmer. A nice effect!

I have also used some of the Kaisercraft Clear Doilie Stickers. I love how they have come up on this layout.

A few flowers from the collection to finish off.
One of the flowers is a coconut Kaisercraft Paper Bloom which I have used the Royalty and Lovely Lilac Colour Blast Shimmer Cubes to colour it.

Here are a few close up photos of this layout...

I finished up using a few Kaisercraft Clear quote and word stickers.

Well, I hope that you have enjoyed exploring my layout. I definitely enjoyed creating it.

You still have a few days to finalise your entry for this months challenge. Have you got your entry in?
Be sure to get it in for the chance to win a prize pack from our store.

Finally, the...most....exciting....thing....this.....week!!! Eeeekkkkk!!!!
We have added a three night option to our retreat, which is coming up at the end of September. How can you resist that? A 3 night getaway, in the beautiful North East Victorian town of Bright and you can scrap to your hearts content. Have you considered joining us???

Looking forward to hearing your comments on this post...I am not a frequent user of purple, so would love to hear what you think of my attempt to embrace something new. Leave your comments here or on our Facebook page.

Have a great day!

Prima - Wild and Free

Good morning,
Wow how chilly is it this morning, I hope you are all staying warm on this sunday morning?
I'm back today to share a couple of projects I have done this month using the Prima 'Wild and Free' range designed by Frank Garcia, this paper pad has so many beautiful papers in it.

I just loved playing with these photos of my grandaughter, and this paper was so soft and feminine. I have used the new Darkroom Door Stencil 'Mesh' to put my ColourBlaste paste 'Punch' through and have added lots of the 'Punch' shimmer watercolour over my doily and in the background. I also used the Distress Oxide ' worn lipstick'  The chipboard is from Kinder Kreations which I sprayed with Kaisercraft spray, and the sticker is also from kaisercraft.

This is my second page I did with this range, and just love the subtle butterflies. The stencil I have used for my Colourblast paste 'Punch & Blush' is from Dina Wakeley 'Faces. I have added some more Punch watercolour behind my photo. Some FWAB pearls and Green Tara flowers and I was done.

I hope you are working on your entry for this months challenge set by Jane, you still have 10 days to go.
